Eye Creams:Why You Should Be Using One

If you're like most people, you probably don't think about eye cream until there's a specific issue that needs addressing – like dark circles, puffiness, or wrinkles. But the truth is, using an eye cream should be part of your regular beauty routine. In this blog post, we'll talk about the benefits of eye cream and why you should start using one today!

The skin around your eyes is incredibly thin and delicate, which means it's one of the first places to show signs of aging. Fine lines and wrinkles can appear as early as your 20s, and if you don't start using an eye cream then, it will only get worse with time.

But eye creams aren't just for wrinkles. It can also help with dark circles (hyperpigmentation), puffiness, and other common eye-related issues. And even if you don't have any specific concerns, using an eye cream can help slow down the formation of fine lines and keep your eyes looking bright, hydrated, and healthy.

Why can't you use your regular moisturizer for your eye cream? Well, no one is saying that you can't but know that you shouldn't use any active ingredients that are designed for the face, around your eyes. The skin around your eyes is much thinner and more sensitive than the skin on the rest of your face, so using a product with the correct molecular structure will benefit you in the long run.

When shopping for an eye cream, look for one that is designed specifically for the delicate eye area. You want to use eye creams that are formulated with ingredients that target eye area concerns such as:

  • Caffeine: helps with the appearance of under-eye puffiness and congestion.

  • Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid: will deliver hydration to the skin around the eyes.

  • Neuro-Calming Peptides: will soften the appearance of crepiness.

  • Algae Blend and Botanical Extracts: work synergistically to reduce the appearance of puffiness.

Did you know that using an eye cream before using your under-eye concealer will help it last longer and will lessen the appearance of your concealer making your eyes look dry and caked? As we get older, using concealers that are not hydrating can make you look much older because it makes the eye area look matte or dry. When you already have fine lines there, you don't want to highlight those fine lines. Make sure you're using a hydrating eye cream and a hydrating under-eye concealer for the winning combo.

Eye creams are an essential part of your skincare routine, in my opinion. If you think about it, you always have movement around your eye area therefore, you will see the signs of aging there first. There are many eye creams out there, I will list my recommendations below along with my favorite concealer and silk pillow case which prevents wrinkles, while you sleep.
