  • A facial is a skincare treatment that typically involves cleansing, exfoliating, and nourishing the skin on the face. It is designed to improve the overall appearance and health of the skin by addressing specific concerns such as acne, dryness, or signs of aging.

  • The frequency of facial treatments depends on your individual skin type, concerns, and goals. Generally, it's recommended to have a professional facial every 4 to 6 weeks. This timeframe allows your skin to complete its natural rejuvenation cycle while addressing specific issues like acne, aging, or dryness.

  • You can maintain the results of your facial by using the recommended professional products that your esthetician recommends.

  • Everyone can benefit from a facial, even men! If it's your first time getting a facial, then we always recommend the Roman Esthetics Signature Facial to start with. Even though all facials are customized to your skin concerns, if you book a facial that isn't right for you, your esthetician will recommend a different treatment and explain to you the reasons why.

  • If you are wanting certain skin concerns addressed, to achieve the end goal, it will take a series of treatments along with professional skincare to get your skin to its desired state.

  • It is not uncommon for your skin to break out after receiving a facial. The process of stimulating the skin will bring impurities to the surface, making you skin purge. This is temporary and doesn't happen to everyone. If you are getting a facial for an event or special occasion, we encourage you to get your treatment 2-4 weeks prior, in case your skin does purge, you have time to heal.

  • Dermaplaning is an exfoliation technique that involves using a sterile surgical scalpel to gently scrape away dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (commonly known as "peach fuzz") from the surface of the skin. This technique helps to reveal smoother, brighter skin and can enhance the effectiveness of skincare products by allowing them to penetrate more deeply.

  • No, dermaplaning will not make the hair on your face grow back thicker or darker. The vellus hair (peach fuzz) that is removed during dermaplaning will grow back at the same rate and texture as before. Since dermaplaning only targets the surface of the skin and does not affect the hair follicles, it does not have any impact on the growth or color of the hair.

  • To prepare for your facial, there are a few simple steps you can take:

Make sure not to shave or tweeze any facial hair at least 72 hours before your facial appointment. You want to avoid using exfoliating products such as retinol, glycolic, etc. in the week leading up to your facial. Avoid prolonged sun exposure before and after your facial. If possible, bring a list of the skincare products you currently use.
