Skincare For The Fall/Winter

When the weather gets colder, the air becomes drier. Colder weather can cause your skin to feel dry, tight, and flaky. You may need to adjust your skincare routine to account for these changes in temperature and humidity. Here are some tips that I recommend for changing up your skincare for the Fall/Winter.

- Use a cleanser with glycerin: Cold weather can strip your skin of its natural oils, so it's important to use a cleanser that won't dry out your skin. Look for one with hydrating ingredients, like glycerin, which keeps your skin moisturized and hydrated.

- Exfoliate regularly: Dead skin cells can build up on your skin, making it look and feel dull and dry. Exfoliating your skin will help to remove the dead skin; therefore, allowing your other products to work like they are supposed to.

- Use a moisturizer that has ceramides and humectants. These ingredients will help restore the natural barrier function of your skin and keep you hydrated longer.

-Add a hydrating serum to your routine. This will help to lock in moisture and keep your skin hydrated. Make sure you apply this after using your toner, and before your moisturizer.

-Use hydrating treatment mask weekly. This will help to increase hydration levels in your skin and give you a boost of moisture.

- Use a humidifier: This will help to add moisture to the air and keep your skin hydrated.

I hope these tips help you to adjust your skincare routine for the colder months! Unsure what your skin needs? Book a consultation with me at Roman Esthetics and I will be happy to get your skin back into balance.
